For Align Magazine, I wrote eight different feature pieces on pop culture and fashion spanning across seven different issues from 2021-2024. I also copyedit a variety of articles each term, a position which allows me to use my leadership skills to build strong writers. My copyediting work is showcased here and some of my best writing pieces are showcased below.

Untamed

For our New Frontier issue, I wrote a think piece about the authentic personalities of Chappell Roan and Addison Rae in the modern music industry. This piece dives into how the singers’ recent events in the mainstream media have built their character and argues why they should stay true to who they are for the sake of the future of pop music.

A New Genesis

For our Absurdity issue, I wrote a creative essay on the rebirth of various decades of fashion trends from the perspective of someone who grew up in Generation Z.

Dressing For Revenge

For our Vengeance Issue, I wrote an analysis on the fashion trend deemed “the revenge dress,” and how its history has made it into what society deems it today… a way for women to prove themselves as strong and independent even after a time of heartbreak.

The Secret To Happiness

For The 411 Issue, I wrote a personal essay on the act of romanticizing life in the present which calls on readers to find their small moments of bliss. Through interviews and personal research, I created a guide for everyday college students to gain a sense of appreciation for the life they live.

Monochromatic Maximalism

For The 411 Issue, I wrote a personal essay on Valentino’s Autumn/Winter 22’ line, Pink PP. In my piece, I discussed the implications of bringing back hot pink and applying it to the “powerful figures” of society through the use of monochromatic yet maximalist outfits showcasing only Pink PP.

Tailoring, A Neglected Craft

For our From Scratch Issue, I wrote a research piece on the history of tailoring and highlighted the benefits of getting clothes tailored to create a capsule wardrobe. This piece includes an interview with Dalton Meyer, a tailor at Saville Row.
